Chairman Rose Ismail is confused by her new BlackBerry but is always game to try new things. In her bid to have more time for gardening, she stepped down as MD this year but has since found herself spearheading Salt’s business development arm and training programmes. She is former deputy group editor of the NST.

Shareem Amry is the new ruler of Salt. She took to her throne on Jan 13 2010.She has led the publishing team to produce books on social welfare, women in the civil service and the thoughts of leading Malaysians on the country’s future. In the process she has learnt horseback riding, braved floods and is learning to wield her whip. She is the former Features editor and columnist at the NST.

Fatimah Abu Bakar is Salt’s in-house drama queen. In between signing autographs, she leads the training arm in coaching clients through communications, media relations and the art of standing tall. She is the former associate editor and columnist at the NST and trainer on Astro’s popular reality TV show, Akademi Fantasia. She is also the go-to actress for all downtrodden makcik roles on the big and small screens.

Sharon Nelson, our ideas guru, takes the lead in Salt’s branding and media campaigns. In 2010, she will become our social media sleuth and unravel the mysteries of how to take your business online. She is also our very own walking talking pharmacological resource who vets our doctors and their prescriptions. She is the NST’s former Literary editor.

Ham Abu Bakar is an award-winning photographer whose work has taken him to countries like war-torn Iraq, Colombia, India, Pakistan, England, South Africa, Cyprus and Turkey. His portraits of world leaders and photographs of food, fashion, travel and daily life have appeared in newspapers, books and magazines.

Chin Wai Leng is Salt’s fiercely tenacious Ah Long whose diplomacy allows her to fly under the radar. She leads our client  liaison efforts and has also managed some of the more complex projects in Salt’s portfolio.

Caroline Yap is known for her towering heels, quirky illustrations and her calming influence on our frazzled nerves, which she can only do if she is fed an early lunch. After leading some of Salt’s projects, she has become an expert on child protection and heart health. This year she will take on tigers.

Shazwan Taib is Salt’s digital artist extraordinaire with a taste for all things vintage. Besides his constantly evolving hairstyle, Shaz also makes his mark on Salt’s design portfolio, whether online or in Salt’s latest coffee table books.

Dayang Miraffiorry, who guards her chocolates very carefully, is currently whipping Salt’s internal processes into shape. She untangles red tape and translates bureaucratic blah-blah for the rest of us.

Ridzwan Othman, the newest addition to the team, is a playwright and award-winning short story writer. His quiet demeanour belies his manic attention to detail – a much needed quality in Salt’s skill set.

SaltMedia operations are kept together by the fearsome four: Rozita Abd Ghani, Zulkifli Hashim, Tan Pek Wan and Azat Mohd Khalid. They manage everything from accounts to Nasi Beringin lunches.
